On Thursday, February 15th close to 200 people attended the 9th Annual Boston Chili Cup, an event to benefit Community Work Services’ culinary program. Held at Ned Devine’s Irish Pub, the Chili Cup attracted 13 restaurants competing to earn a prize for the best chili in Boston. The lively crowd, including friends, donors and supporters of CWS, sampled the delicious fare while being entertained by a DJ and participating in a raffle.
Easterseals New York spread joy this holiday season throughout the communities it serves with a series of memorable Holiday Cheer events.
On November 27th, the Fedcap family of agencies hosted its inaugural Possible of Possible Gala. Guided by the belief that we are better together, Fedcap, Single Stop USA, Easterseals, Dixon Center for Military and Veterans Services, ReServe and Wildcat honored distinguished supporters, and the individuals and families we are privileged to serve. Over 400 people attended the evening event at Gotham Hall in Manhattan.
On Thursday November 9th, CWS celebrated its 140th anniversary at the Omni Parker House Rooftop Ballroom in Boston. The spirited event honored an organization that has stayed relevant for 140 years through continuous innovation, and meeting the needs of the individuals and families that it serves. \

Fedcap Solution Series - The Employment of People with Disabilities: Moving Beyond Social Responsibility to a Business Solution
On October 3rd Fedcap held its 14th biannual Solution Series – The Employment of People with Disabilities: Moving Beyond Social Responsibility to a Business Solution. The overflow crowd included business partners, and representatives from community and government organizations that support the Fedcap family of agencies. On Monday August 14th 90 people participated in the Third Annual Fedcap Golf Tournament at Quaker Ridge Golf Club in Scarsdale, New York. The tournament supports youth who are aging out of the foster care system, providing them with mentorship, high impact internships, and assistance in applying to and graduating from college.
On Monday August 7th over 400 people gathered for the second annual Hungry for Hope event, a benefit for Granite Pathways’ Safe Harbor Recovery Center in Portsmouth, NH. The event raised over $70,000 - more than double the amount raised at the first Hungry for Hope dinner last year.
On Monday, June 24th, 108 golfers played in the 28th Annual Easterseals New York Golf Classic at Salem Golf Club in North Salem, NY. Longtime supporters of Easterseals, and many new friends, enjoyed a great day of golf amid rolling hills and beautifully landscaped grounds. Enthusiasm was high - even after a two-hour rain delay!
On Sunday, July 9th staff from across the agency participated in the Third Annual Disability Pride Parade NYC. We are a proud sponsor of this event, which promotes inclusion, awareness, and visibility of people with disabilities.
Fedcap's annual Graduations are among the most inspiring events on our calendar. They take on special meaning because of the barriers that individuals must overcome to graduate. The Fedcap Career Design School, Fedcap School and Easterseals Child Development Centers all celebrated graduations in June, in moving ceremonies that inspired all who attended.
On Tuesday May 2nd Easterseals New York held its first annual Spring Warm-up – an event to celebrate the great work of ESNY staff, and to welcome new friends to our Easterseals family. Over 150 staff, supporters, partners and friends gathered at the Memorial Art Gallery attended the event.
For 45 years, Wildcat has been driving innovations in services to the homeless, chronically unemployed, public assistance recipients and those involved with the justice system. Since combining with Fedcap in 2012 Wildcat’s work has accelerated and expanded. New efforts to help these individuals reenter the workforce and hold sustainable jobs - thus breaking the cycles of incarceration, welfare dependency, addiction and crime – are contributing to the national conversation about serving the justice-involved.

An overflow crowd of Fedcap business partners, academia, government, community nonprofit partners donors and staff attended the event.
Heather Mills Visits Project Explore in Valhalla New York for Naming of the Heather Mills Child Development Center
On February 16th noted international philanthropist Heather Mills visited Project Explore in Valhalla, New York. Since 2009, Ms. Mills has been one of Easterseals New York’s most generous benefactors. Her support includes a $125,000 gift to purchase and refurbish the building at 70 Columbus Avenue in Valhalla that houses Project Explore and now bears her name - the Heather Mills Child Development Center.
Fedcap’s Breaking the Cycle program was officially launched in the State of Maine on January 30th, with the opening of four Opportunity Centers. The Breaking the Cycle program was established by Fedcap after we were selected by Maine officials to provide statewide services under their Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program, called ASPIRE. The state had not met TANF work participation rates and believed Fedcap could do a better job.
Close to 100 board members, staff, partners and stakeholders attended Easterseals New York Annual Meeting on Monday, January 30th. The spirited event, at 210 E. 43rd Street, celebrated the past, present, and future of ESNY, and recognized the remarkable stories of the individuals who the agency is so proud to serve.
Fedcap has officially combined with Single Stop USA, a nationwide agency that provides coordinated access to resources for education and job readiness. The combination, which was formalized on February 1st, strengthens the capacity of both agencies to advance equity and provide opportunities for people with barriers to economic well-being.
Members of the PrepNOW! community - foster parents, success mentors, NYC Child-Placing Agencies, foundations, NYC Administration for Children’s Services and other stakeholders - convened at Fedcap headquarters on December 15th to honor a remarkable group of foster parents who have completed the PrepNOW! curriculum.
On December 7th Granite Pathways hosted the first Solution Series outside of New York City.

New York City hosted its 97th annual Veterans Day Parade on November 11. Over 40,000 people participated in the event, including a sizeable contingent of board members, staff and leadership from Easterseals and the entire Fedcap family of agencies. Easterseals board members Scott Pollack, Scott Modlin and Jim Kroll marched in the parade as did Fedcap COO Joe Giannetto.
Fedcap Solution Series - Leading as Women: How Women are Increasing Productivity and Changing Business
Fedcap recently held its 12th Solution Series – Leading as Women: How Women Are Increasing Productivity and Changing Business. The event took place on October 11th at Mutual of America and drew an overflow crowd of Fedcap supporters, and business and political leaders from the community. Hundreds of people in multiple states watched the event via live stream.
On Monday, November 28th Fedcap will hold its Annual Celebration of Work Gala at Gotham Hall in Manhattan. Our Gala celebrates the courage and accomplishments of our consumers, and the groundbreaking work of our speakers and special guests.
On Sunday July 10th, New York City held its second annual Disability Pride parade. Thousands of people attended the parade, which went from Union Square Park to Madison Square Park.
Maricela Brea, Senior Director, Fedcap Youth & Young Adults Division, was recently honored at a National Disability Employment Awareness Month awards ceremony at the Whitney Museum of American Art.
On Monday, August 8th, 80 people participated in the Third Annual Fedcap Golf Tournament at Quaker Ridge Golf Club in Scarsdale New York. Under a warm summer sun, the many friends of Fedcap enjoyed a great day on the golf course, and through their generous support, helped to transform the lives of youth who are aging out of foster care. Participants included board members Ken Raisler and John Mascialino, many of our vendors, donors and family members.
On Saturday July 30th almost 1000 people gathered in Flushing Meadows Park in Queens, New York for Easterseals New York’s annual Walk With Me event.
On Monday July 25th Easterseals New York held its 27th Annual Hudson Valley Golf Classic at Hollow Brook Golf Club in Cortlandt Manor, NY. The sold-out event provided significant support to nearly 1,000 children in Easter Seals New York preschools, providing them with services that are essential to their growth and development – including class trips, extra staff, vision care, playgrounds, sensory rooms and much more.
On July 12th, over 150 people joined in the celebration of the grand opening of Safe Harbor -a recovery center located at 865 Islington Street in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The effort – the culmination of the hard work and commitment of many community members and staff – was spearheaded by Sandi Coyle, who serves as Executive Director of Granite Pathways and the Director of Recovery Services for Fedcap.
On Wednesday May 18 almost 200 people gathered at Mutual of America on Park Avenue for Fedcap’s annual Spring Cocktail Party. This event celebrates the work of Wildcat, which has been driving innovation in services to the justice-involved for over 40 years.

Fedcap Solution Series: A Conversation with Patrick Kennedy: Changing the National Discourse About Mental Health Issues and Addiction
On Wednesday October 28, Representative Patrick Kennedy spoke at Fedcap’s 10th Solutions Series. Mr. Kennedy served 16 years in Congress and is one of our country’s leading and most compelling advocate for changing the stigmatization of mental health and addiction, and improving access to care.
On August 10th Fedcap held its Second Annual Golf Tournament at Quaker Ridge Golf Club in Scarsdale, New York. Thirty golf foursomes participated in the tournament, which netted $86,500 – enough to support High Impact Internships and an array of services designed to help youth break through the cycle of poverty.
The Fedcap School in Orange, New Jersey, held its annual Graduation ceremony on June 16th. Over 80 people attended to celebrate the achievements of 11 remarkable students, who earned both a Certificate of Completion from the Fedcap School and a State of New Jersey high school diploma.
On June 11, in an exuberant ceremony at the Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, Fedcap celebrated the accomplishments of its graduating class of 2015.
On May 12th members of the PrepNOW! community gathered at Fedcap headquarters in Manhattan to celebrate their accomplishments to date, and consider the road ahead as they work to change the story for youth in foster care.
On Thursday, May 7, over 270 people gathered at the MetLife Building in Midtown Manhattan for Fedcap’s annual Spring Cocktail Party.

On Tuesday, October 14th, Fedcap, in partnership with the Rutgers University School of Social Work and Beijing Normal University, hosted a diverse group of 23 professionals from China on a U.S. Study Tour as part of their Executive Master of Philanthropy (EMP) and Non-Profit Management studies.
On Thursday, September 4th, in a ceremony at 19th Street, Fedcap employee Krzysztof Bramski was presented with a 2014 NYSID Joslin Outstanding Performer Recognition by NYSID, the Preferred Source agency for New York State.
On August 11th Fedcap held our first annual Golf Tournament at Trump National Golf Club. The event was a tremendous success and through the gifts, sponsorships and silent auction purchases of our friends and sponsors, the sold-out Fedcap Golf Tournament raised $71,000!
On Friday August 8th, 86 individuals with disabilities from across the state of Rhode Island and 35 businesses gathered at Chelo’s Restaurant in Warwick RI for Connect2Careers™, one of Fedcap’s signature programs for helping individuals develop the networking skills and professional contacts they need to build their careers.

On Friday April 25th, Fedcap moved from 211 West 14th Street – where it had been located since 1953 – to new headquarters on the sixth floor of 633 3rd Avenue. The new headquarters and our new 210 East 43rd Street location, which will house Fedcap programs and businesses, allow us to strategically strengthen our impact as an agency.
