News from FedcapFedcap Selected by nycTIES As 2012 Charity Partner
Fedcap is honored to have been selected by nycTIES as its 2012 charity partner.
nycTIES is a non-profit service organization of about 200 young professionals committed to building strong ties within the New York City community through accountable philanthropy – a process that entails voting on a charity, choosing where to direct fundraiser dollars to make a tangible difference and providing volunteer events and operations support to Fedcap.
“We are delighted to have such a dynamic and committed group of young philanthropists supporting our mission to break down barriers to employment,” said Christine McMahon, President & CEO of Fedcap. “Our organization and, most importantly, the people we serve will benefit greatly from this relationship.”
Among their potential contributions, nycTIES volunteers may mentor and provide career coaching to participants in Fedcap’s programs for foster-care and other at-risk youth; join Fedcap’s Young Professionals group The Associates, and support Fedcap operations in their individual areas of expertise.
“nycTIES is growing rapidly,” said the group’s new President, Elise King. “We are excited to instill the importance of philanthropy in the lives of so many new members so that our charity, as a whole, can provide Fedcap with engaging and creative volunteer events, operational support and additional funding. It promises to be a year of powerful impact for everyone involved.” To learn more, visit www.nycties.org.
