National Disability Employment Awareness Month: Fedcap Salutes Lindsay Dookie

Lindsay Dookie, who is deaf, came to America from Trinidad when she was eight years old, got her High School diploma from the Lexington School for the Deaf, then trained with Fedcap and joined the Fedcap workforce in January 2007. Today Ms. Dookie works for Fedcap’s Office Services division, providing document management to clients like the New York City government. “Fedcap gave me the opportunity to work and services that I couldn’t find anywhere else. I've had the opportunity of working in several different challenging projects. I also found hearing people who wanted to learn ASL and I taught them. I am happy working for Fedcap. I am preparing myself to go back to school and learn more so I can move on in the company."
