News from FedcapCWS Board Member Joseph Capalbo Honored as Massachusetts GM of the Year
On Thursday April 2, Community Work Services Board Member Joe Capalbo was awarded the General Manager of the Year award by the Massachusetts Lodging Association at the group’s annual Stars of the Industry event.
The Massachusetts Lodging Association, a trade association representing the lodging industry in the Bay State, has over 400 active property members, including hotels, motels, resorts, inns and bed and breakfasts, comprising more than 35,000 rooms.
Joe is General Manager of the Hotel Marlowe in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and also recently became Regional Operations Director for Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, a leading collection of boutique hotels and restaurants that pioneered the boutique hotel concept to the United States.
As a CWS Board Member, Joe has been substantially engaged in fundraising efforts on behalf of CWS in Boston’s business community. He has served as Chair of the planning committee for the annual CWS golf tournament, spearheading three highly successful events. Through his advocacy on behalf of CWS, Kimpton Hotels is now an active supporter of the golf tournament, and Boston-based Proforma Printing provides tournament planners with free printing and promotional services.
Additionally, Joe brings a wealth of hospitality knowledge to the CWS board and has become extremely involved with the agency’s hospitality program and fundraising efforts in the City of Boston. He has recruited other members to the CWS Board of Advisors, and is an all-around great supporter of CWS and their mission.
Congratulations to Joe for his fantastic work on behalf of CWS, and for this award from his peers in the hospitality industry.
